Vickie Lynn Marshall, otherwise
known by her stage name, Anna
Nicole Smith, was a highly
publicized individual, first
making fame in 1993 as Playboy Magazine's Playmate
of the Year. Her highly
publicized marriage to oil
business executive and
billionaire J. Howard Marshall,
who was 63 years her senior,
resulted in tumultuous
speculation that she married the
octogenarian merely for his
money, which she denied.
Following his death, she began a
lengthy and ongoing legal battle
over a share of his estate.
Smith's career and public image
subsequently suffered as her
weight gain and antics were
reported in supermarket tabloids
and in her reality television
series, The Anna Nicole Show
(2002-2004).
Anna had an untimely death a
year after mysterious death of
her son, Daniel. Anna reportedly
considered
drug addition help shortly
before her death. On the morning
of February 7, 2007, Anna was
found unresponsive in her room ,
Number 607, at the Seminole Hard
Rock Hotel and Casino in
Hollywood, Florida. Her autopsy
was performed by Broward County
Medical Examiner and Forensic
Pathologist, Dr. Joshua Perper.
After a seven week
investigation, Dr. Perper
determined that Anna died of
"combined drug intoxication" of
which sleeping medication was
the predominant component.
Anna is buried in Lakeview
Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums
in Nassau, Bahamas.
